Guilherme Bergamini

Former employees of Indústria Malvina, from the Engenheiro Dolabela neighborhood, in Bocaiúva, Minas Gerais, lost hope of receiving their labor rights. When this mill was declared bankrupt in 2001, thousands of people worked cutting cane and producing sugar and alcohol. No labor laws were applied.

A reporter, photographer and visual artist, Guilherme Bergamini is Brazilian and has a degree in Journalism. For more than two decades he has been developing projects with photography and the various narrative possibilities that art offers. The artist’s works dialogue between memory and political-social criticism. He believes in photography as an aesthetic potential and a transforming agent for society. Awarded in national and international competitions, Guilherme Bergamini participated in group exhibitions in 51 countries.
