Join the Variant Team
Are you passionate about small press publishing? Variant Lit is looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team of readers and editors. As a volunteer with Variant Lit, you’ll be part of a community that celebrates diverse voices and champions emerging writers.
Available Positions:

Poetry Readers: Read at least 10 submissions per week, vote on them, and leave comments in Submittable.

Prose Readers: Read at least 10 submissions per week, vote on them, and leave comments in Submittable.

Social Media Interns: Create graphics, schedule posts, and support our writers on Twitter and Instagram.

Production Interns: Build pages in WordPress, edit content, and ensure quality before publication.

Free Books: Volunteers receive a copy of all new books in our catalog.

Hands-on Experience: Variant Lit provides practical training and experience in your area of interest, whether it’s poetry, prose, social media, or production.

Opportunities for Growth: Develop your skills in book marketing, production, poetry or prose editing, and interviewing. We encourage new ideas and initiatives from our volunteers.

Active Participation: We ask that all volunteers stay active on Slack, our primary communication platform.
